I was saddened to hear of Marie's passing. My family met with Marie each time we visited Nova Scotia and she would always treat us to blueberry cobbler and we would discuss a mutual interest, Girl Guides.

On behalf of the Trefoil Guilds of Nova Scotia I extend our deepest sympathies for your loss. You, and we, have had the privilege to share, even if only in a small way, in the life of a very special lady. I believe that everyone we meet along our life journey becomes part of who we are, who we are meant to be, who we can be, and, if this is true, just think of the many people Marie has touched, the many lives she has helped to mold, and the memories she created with so many of us. May the memories you carry bring you strength and joy as you celebrate the life of so special a lady. "Go Well and Safely", Marie. God bless you all.

To Marie's Family, We sisters of the Hardwood Lake Trefoil Guild wish to pass along our deepest sympathy to you her family at this time of grieving. Marie was an outstanding member of Girl Guides of Canada and gave of herself for over 80 years. She influenced many lives and contributed to many girls becoming leaders in their communities. For those who knew Marie personally they will remember with great fondness and for those of us who did not know her on that level! she was a sister in Guiding and one of us. As we say when one passes ......she has "gone home" and is at peace. She will be fondly remembered in our sisterhood of guiding for many years ...... On behalf of the Hardwood lake Trefoil Guild please acceptance our heartfelt sympathy, Trish MacDonald Secretary of the Guild

It was with sadness that I read that Marie had passed away. We, in Guiding, were fortunate to have known Marie and learned much from her. She was always willing to help at any project.

Really, she wasn't so much a librarian in Truro, as she was Stewiacke's town Librarian - for more than two decades if you or your children needed a book, a magazine, some help with research or a friendly ear, you went to the Stewiacke Library knowing Marie would help.
