Obituary of Shirley Ann Fitzgerald
FITZGERALD, Shirley Ann (Howard) – age 65 of Carrolls Corner, lost her year-long war with ALS in QEII Health Sciences Centre, Halifax Infirmary Site, Halifax on August 21, 2022. Born in Halifax, she was a daughter of Dolores Ann (Sutherland) and the late Arthur Howard.
Shirley worked for MT&T until her retirement when she left the city for the peacefulness of the country. She loved her animals, flowers, books and the stooges who always kept her busy. Shirley was someone who did her best to help anyone in need. She could never wait until her next trip to visit the girls of NG; they know who they are and Shirley loved each and everyone of you.
Shirley is survived by her devoted, caring and loving husband, Keith; sons, Andrew and Stephen; mother, Dolores; her sister; many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Besides her father, she was predeceased by brother, Paul; 2 sisters in infancy.
Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of Ettinger Funeral Home, Shubenacadie. No service by request.
The family would like to thank to all the doctors, specialists, the Neurology Dept. (7.4) at the Infirmary, her physiotherapist, Mark, and Dr. Salsmann and Dr. Taylor for their care of our mother.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the ALS Society of Nova Scotia.
