Obituary of Wayne Bryant Scott

SCOTT, Wayne Bryant, chief petty officer, 1st class (ret’d) OMM, CD – age 76 of Lantz, passed away peacefully on February 17, 2023, in Camp Hill Veterans Memorial Hospital, Halifax. Born in Woodstock, NB, he was a son of the late Allison and Stella (Grant) Scott.

Wayne retired from the Navy after 32 years of service. He held various positions on land and spent 23 years at sea onboard 9 ships. Wayne was active in travelling, hiking, RV camping, and spent many years as a snowbird in Florida. 

Wayne is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Helene; son, Bryan (Claudel); grandson, Henri; brother, Barry (Norma); sister-in-law, June; and many nephews.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Dale; sister, Joan; brother-in-law, Ivan; nephews, Cary, Daley, and Butch.

Cremation has taken place. A Legion Service will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, February 25, 2023, in Ettinger Funeral Home, 860 Highway 2, Elmsdale with a reception to follow.

Donations in Wayne’s memory may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Nova Scotia.
