Obituary of John Burris Archibald
ARCHIBALD, John Burris “Grampy John” – age 80 of Truro, passed away peacefully with family by his side on September 11th, 2023, in Musquodoboit Valley Memorial Hospital, Middle Musquodoboit. Born in Brookvale, he was a son of the late Ira “Douglas” and Olga (Cavicchi) Archibald.
John was a skilled electrician and handyman. He and his wife, Polly, loved dances and never missed the opportunity to attend one. They met many friends at these events. John enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. He and Polly also spent time going for Sunday drives. John will be dearly missed by family and friends.
John is survived by his wife of 43 years, Pauline “Polly”; stepdaughters, Leigh (Bobby) McQuillan, Nettie Llewellyn, Naomi (John) Gotell, Faye Stewart; grandchildren, Jill, Lyndsay, Kyle, Seth, Matthew, Molly, Hailey, Ivy; great grandchildren, Maddy, Zoey, Nelly, Brittany, Jada, Jack; siblings, Karen Berg, Jeanette Beudaux, Greg; many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his stepfather, Albert Ettinger; brother, Andy; niece, Candace Archibald; nephew, Chad Archibald; grandson, Blair Gotell.
Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of Ettinger Funeral Homes Shubenacadie and Elmsdale. No service by request.
