Obituary of Emma Frances Sheridan
SHERIDAN, Emma Frances (Hatt) – age 93 of Halifax, passed away on to the other side to be with the Lord and her family that went before her on November 7th, 2023, in Melville Gardens, Halifax. Born in Boston, Massachusetts, she was a daughter of the late Arthur and Helena (Brown) Purdy.
Emma had a good life being healthy and active right up until the age of 90; she loved dancing, bowling, knitting, and her bingo nights with the girls. She had a great social life, rarely missing a fun get together with family or friends.
After her birth in Boston in 1930, Emma came to Canada with her mother at the age of 3. She was the second oldest in a family of 12 children, having 9 brothers and 2 sisters.
Emma is survived by her children, Janet, Judy (Cathy), Jeff (Liv), Jim (Mavis); grandchildren, Terri (Barrett), Brandon (Becca), Jenny (Neil); great grandson, Maverick; sister, Marge; brother, Denny.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Bernard; sister, Lorraine; brothers, Ronald, Richard, Cyril, Donnie, Fred, Reg, Thomas and Victor.
Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of Ettinger Funeral Homes Elmsdale and Shubenacadie. A private graveside service will be held.

The family would like to thank the staff at Melville Gardens for their compassion and care given to Emma over the last year. They deserve so much credit for doing a very difficult job.
