Obituary of Thomas Cyril Collier
It is with profound sadness, we announce the passing of Thomas Cyril Collier, age 75, of Enfield, Nova Scotia.
Tom left this world surrounded by the family he loved so deeply. For 55 years, he was a devoted husband to Mary, their love a steadfast anchor through the tides of life. As a father, he was fiercely proud of his sons, Chris and Paul, guiding them with unwavering love and wisdom. As a grandfather and great-grandfather, Tom’s warmth was a beacon of light, his presence a source of humour and joy. Tom’s legacy continues through Chris and his beloved children, Kaitlyn, Hannah, and Ryleigh, who will forever carry the memory of their grandfather’s gentle kindness. Paul, alongside his wife Angela, and their sons, Nate and Zach, will honor Tom’s memory with the same integrity and love he instilled in them. His great-grandchildren, Noah and Charlie, were the apples of his eye, bringing immense happiness to his later years. Predeceased by his parents, Matt and Muriel, and his siblings Cathy and Susan, Tom leaves behind his sister Joan and brothers Mickey and Billy, whose bond with him was unbreakable and will be cherished always. Tom dedicated his life to his work as a ramp attendant with EPA Airlines, Canadian Airlines and finally Air Canada, but his true passion lay in the things that brought him close to his loved ones. If it had an engine, Tom could fix it, race it, or break it—but it was the time spent riding his Harley with his sons that brought him the greatest joy, the wind in his hair and the road ahead a symbol of the freedom and adventure he so cherished. Known for his deep character and boundless generosity, Tom was a man who earned the respect and admiration of everyone who crossed his path. His greatest pride was his family, whom he adored with all his heart. Children naturally gravitated toward him, drawn by his kindness and sense of fun.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that those who attend honor Tom’s memory by holding their loved ones close and sharing words of love.
A celebration of his life will be held at Ettinger’s Funeral Home in Elmsdale on September 15, from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM.
Tom’s love, laughter, and spirit will live on in the hearts of his family and with those who were blessed to know him.
