Obituary of Verna Kelly

KELLY, Verna Marie "Sam"- 61 of Lantz, passed away peacefully July 13, 2013 in Colchester East Hants Medical Centre, Truro. Born in East Jeddore (Oyster Pond), she was a daughter of the late Fay and Thurma (Jennings) Hartlin. Verna was an active member of the Elmsdale Legion, Branch 48. She loved to travel, play bingo, garden and go camping. Verna worked at Pratt and Whitney Canada. She is survived by her husband, Reginald James Kelly, sons James Walter Kelly, Sackville, Randal Albert (Amanda Henderson) Kelly, Sackville, grandchildren Alyssa Marie Henderson and Matthew Ronald David Henderson, sisters Mildred Lyons, Oyster Pond; Sheila Kelly, Urbania; Faye Beaver, East Chezzetcook; Shirley Daye, Head of Jeddore; Tina DeBaie, Myers Point; Ella Stevens, Myers Point; brothers Leonard Hartlin, Sackville; Gary Hartlin, Oyster Pond; James Hartlin, Chezzetcook; Kevin Hartlin, Chezzetcook. She was predeceased by a brother Emerson Hartlin. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Ettinger's Funeral Home, Shubenacadie. No visitation will occur. A graveside service, for family and close friends, will take place at 3pm Friday July 19, 2013 at Oak Hill Cemetery, Milford, Rev. Patty McKenna officiating. A reception will follow in the Elmsdale Legion. Family flowers only, donations may be made to the Children's Wish Foundation.
