Obituary of Barbara Scott

SCOTT, Barbara Ann, 83 of Milford passed away peacefully on Wednesday November 5th, 2014. Born in West Gore, she was the daughter of the late Earle and Adeline (Bond) Simm. She was a teacher in several schools within Hants County for 34 years including 28 years at Milford Elementary. Barbara started teaching when she was 14 in a one room school with grades from 1-9. Over the years Barbara attained her teaching diploma and later went on to complete her Bachelor of Arts degree. On her 19th birthday, Barbara married Lloyd Scott; they were happily married for 60 years. Barbara loved poetry and literature and right to the end, would recite verses from poems she learned as a child. Barbara will always be remembered for her quick wit and wonderful sense of humour. She was a long time member of the Milford-Lantz United Church. She is survived by sons, Bruce (Barb), Victoria B.C.; Don (Brenda) Cambridge, ON; grandchildren, Jason (Justine), Trevor; Ryan (Cori); great grandchildren, Sienna, Wyatt; step- grandchildren Jake Whitely, Ryan Whitely, Ashley Larsen; great step-grandchildren, Abby Till, Olivia Till; brothers, Jud (Evelyn), Charlie, Neil (Millie), Marvin (Jay), Donald , Barry. Besides her parents, Barbara was predeceased by her husband Lloyd; sisters, Clare, Audrey; brother, Danny. There will be no visitation. Funeral service will be held on Monday November 10, 2014 at 1pm at Ettinger Funeral Home, 2812 Hwy 2 Shubenacadie with Lori Crocker DM officiating; reception to follow; interment to take place in East Gore Cemetery.
