Obituary of Oscar Burton

BURTON, Oscar W., age 84, Upper Kennetcook, passed away in the Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro, on January 22, 2015. Born in Latties Brook, he was the son of the late Stanley and Clerissa (Lantz) Burton. Oscar retired from Boeing Aircraft after sixteen years. He also worked in mill work with his father for many years. He was a 55 year member of the Royal Canadian Legion after serving with the Royal Canadian Dragoons. He is survived by his wife Aileen; step daughters Heather Ann and Hazel both of Scotland; and Lori, Winnipeg; grandchildren Richard and Jason; sisters Lucy, Luella (Jim), Elsie, Hilda and Marie; numerous nieces and nephews and one special nephew Stanley Harris. He was predeceased by a sister Lillas, brothers Tom and Stanley. Cremation has taken place under the care of Ettinger Funeral Home, Shubenacadie. A service of committal will be held in the spring with the family at St. John the Baptist Anglican Cemetery, Latties Brook. Donations in memory of Oscar may be made to The East Hants Palliative Care.
