Aunt Debbie and Family posted a condolence
Saturday, March 7, 2015
Dear Aunt Debbie and Family, I want to send my sincere condolences to you all in the passing of Uncle Ben. I was so fortunate to see him with Alia at Christmas time and enjoy seeing him the last few years while vacationing home. I will never forget his humour when I was pregnant with Alia and playing a game before my husband arrived and him insisting that I eat a cookie. I will never forget you Uncle Ben and I hope that you are now having fun up in Heaven with Ryan. My love to you all. Love, Joanna

Dear Debbie, Trevor & Holly We are so sad to hear of Ben's passing. He was such a wonderful man, and we have such good memories of the time we spent with him. He was such an easy person to talk to, and he made you feel so comfortable doing just that. It was a pleasure to be around him. Your memories of him will keep you strong. Debbie, I am so sorry to hear of Ben's passing. Ben was truly a really nice man. As well, my mother in law Elaine Wentworth had nothing but nice things to say about Ben as a landlord. I will be thinking of you and your family as you go through these difficult times.

Debbie, Holly, and Trevor; Ben was an exceptional gentleman; a man to look up to. His gentle spirit, and kind, thoughtful ways made him unforgettable. I will treasure the memories of playing "washer-toss" with him, and his dry sense of humour. May the future be filled with wonderful memories of Ben...a very special person. He will be greatly missed.

Dear Debbie and family So sorry to hear about uncle Ben's passing, know that he Is loved and respected by us all and we will sadly miss to see And hear him speak, enjoy his wit and company. I'm thinking about him at moms last summer laughing and joking about my small Guitar telling me I was improving in my playing. He wanted to get a smaller guitar for his granddaughter to learn to play chords on. I hope his spirit will always be with us until we meet again someday. Try to keep your spirits high in that thought. Cherish all the happy memories as do I. I'll never forget visiting with you and Ben Debra in my teen years in porters lake when he just finished building your first house. Me in my white bathing suit in the hot summer sun, Ben trying to get me up on the water ski on the river with his wooden boat. I must have tried 20 times to get upright hitting the water every time, it was exhilarating just to try. You and I picking blueberries and getting stung on the ankle stepping near a hornets nest running back to your house forgetting the blueberries. Ouch! My Dad Don Scopie yard logs with Ben and the biggest horse I've ever seen from antigonish from that large parcel of land on the hill at Brook Street where I later lived with my girls. Its pretty amazing all of the houses he built in the subdivision after his first one in porters lake. Then more in elmsdale and the cottages. He never stopped with one, such a hard worker/developer not just of homes but of communities and of friends and families. We will all carry Ben Mackay's good heart and deeds with us forever. Ben we love you and you are in our hearts and prayers. With our heartfelt sympathies to you Debra,Trevor and Holly and the rest of our families we are grieving with you all and if you need us we are here for you!!! Will see you soon. X O Lisa
