HARRIS, Allison George -86, Enfield, Hants County, passed away April 6, 2013 at the Camp Hill Veteran's Memorial Hospital in Halifax. Born on May 24, 1926 in Woodville, Kings County he was the eldest son of Clayton and Mildred (Wood) Harris. Allison was a War Veteran stationed in Montreal with the Royal Canadian Ordinance Core. Before his retirement he was an employee with Air Canada at the Halifax International Airport. He had a great love for fishing and hunting and camping in the outdoors and in 1953 until 1963 he was a Provincial Licensed Guide. Allison was a 22 year member of the Enfield Legion Branch #133. Surviving are his wife Leona (Custance) and step-daughter Marion Fraser of Hardwood Lands; Brother Donald (Marjorie), Kentville; along with several loving nieces and nephews and step grandchildren. He will be sadly missed by his good friend Sylvia Goveia and of course his fur-baby "Angel". He was predeceased by brothers Frank and Lorimer. Funeral arrangements are with Ettinger Funeral Home in Shubenacadie where funeral will be held on, Wednesday, April 10 at 2pm with Pastor Michael Trites of Elmsdale Baptist Church officiating. Interment will be at Sandy Hill Cemetery in Belnan. Special thanks to Dr. MacLeod and all the "Angel" nurses and care givers on 6 West of the Camp Hill Veteran's Memorial Hospital. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to local charities of your choice.
