Obituary of Eldon Spencer

SPENCER, Eldon Herbert "Eddie", - 82, Shubenacadie, passed away February 28, in Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro. Born in Fall River, he was a son of the late Arthur and Gladys (Jamieson) Spencer. Eddie was a volunteer firefighter for 24 years with the Shubenacadie Fire Department. He worked as a maintenance janitor at Hants East Rural High School for 25 years. He is survived by his wife of 53 years Shirley (McCoul) Spencer, daughter Deanna Spencer, Bible Hill; son Dwayne Spencer, Shubenacadie; sisters Shirley Restrick, Ontario; Marjorie Crooks, Dartmouth; brother Allan (Lillian) Spencer, Truro; four nieces and three nephews. He was predeceased by brothers Arthur and William, sister Helen. Visitation 6-8pm Monday in Ettinger Funeral Home, 2812 Highway 2, Shubenacadie, from where funeral service will be held 5pm, Tuesday, Rev. Martin Reid officiating. Spring interment in Brookside Cemetery, Mill Village. Donations in memory of Eddie may be made to Brookside Cemetery or a charity of your choice.
