I was so sorry to hear of Catherine's passing and offer my deepest condolences to family and friends. I first met Catherine in Nova Scotia at a time when our family was going through the loss of our dear sister Cora Doyle. Catherine was so kind to our whole family, giving us a place to stay and plenty of meals as we travelled from all parts of Canada to be with Cora. I use to call her on occasion just to say hi and have a yarn. I spoke with her in the last month about a book i recommended she read. She called to thank me and to let me know how much she enjoyed it. She was very kind and had a beautiful spirit. I always enjoyed our talks. May God grant you Eternal rest Catherine. You left this world a better place.

Sending you and your family sincere condolences in the loss of your Mother & Grandmother.
Catherine was a lovely lady and I have so many good memories of your family growing up in Enfield, from St. Bernard's church, Guiding and just meeting up in the community. She was very proud of you and the boys and always had a story to share, as well as one from her precious Newfoundland trips. She will be missed.
May the love and support of your family and friends bring some comfort to you at this very sad time when we cannot meet in person but please know you are in my thoughts and prayers.
Take care and God Bless you,

Tara and family.... I am saddened by the passing of Aunt Catherine, she was a lovely lady with a gentle soul. I would often see her at the Enfield post office or on the sidewalk, we would have a lengthy conversation getting caught up on the family news. She would often speak of you and was always so proud to share, her love for you ran deep. Keep your memories and pictures close, they will help you move through the sad times.
With love and deepest sympathy; Linda (Horne) Coolen

I am Catherine's first cousin (Ida Devereaux) from Winterland NL - - Tara - myself and Randy and all of Catherine's cousins sends you and your family sincere condolences on the passing of your dear mother. Many of Catherine's relatives called her Aunt Catherine- we have so many fond memories of your mom and dad and yourself of countless visits to NL during your younger days. We have pics galore that we will cherish forever of those memorable visits .I have many treasured memories of visits with your mom -the most recent one was last September - which I knew it was trip that I had to make as your mother's health was failing -a visit that I will treasure as I knew when she watched me early in the morning to leave for the airport - my visits were going to be less down the road.
She always talked about a trip to Ireland with herself and me -but unfortunately that did not happen.
I have many memories of sleepovers and visits with your mom -down at her cottage in Point May - her little paradise place.
Whenever she was in NL - we always included her in our birthday, wedding and anniversaries celebrations- and it was a honor for her to attend.
Just a few years ago we had a family gathering at our cottage- and we invited your mom and her adorable Aunt Elizabeth Lemonine (Stacey) 100 +years old from St Pierre for a NL jigs dinner which was her glory. What good memories. Hopefully we will visit her Aunt Lemonie later this year (please God if Covid-19 has passed) and I know from personal experience how deeply saddened Aunt Elizabeth is on the news of losing her precious niece - Aunt Elizabeth told me last summer that she LOVED Catherine and I know she did.
Same for my mother (Elizabeth Devereaux (Molloy) - Catherine's aunt -that she loved Catherine as much as Catherine loved her and that was a lot of love.
A number of years ago when my niece (Cora Doyle) was going through a great deal of sickness with cancer in Enfield community -Catherine opened her door to all Cora's siblings to stay at her home so they could spent time with their sister during her sickness. This outpouring support will never be forgotten.
I spoke to Catherine a week before her passing -I didn't call her every week as my sister-in-law (Catherine Devereaux - who talked to Catherine on a daily basis and both had a good relationship over the years) I knew when I spoke to her that she was failing fast. It wasn't the Catherine I knew - not so talkative and we all know that Catherine had no problem in talking - bless her heart. Like I said time and time again.. THERE IS ONLY CATHERINE AND WE LOVED HER DEARLY. RIP.
AND Tara you keep strong and have courage and strength as that is what your Mom would want - Hugs to you and your family.
God Bless
Ida and Randy

Tara, we are deeply saddened to hear of your Mom's passing. She was a beautiful lady with a dry sense of humour. Len & I loved her dearly. We visited when we were in Halifax and spent a few days with her, then we went to PEI and stayed over night and the three of us toured around. We always visited her when she came to Point May, NL. When everything settles, we will visit her final resting place. She has left a huge void in our hearts and we will miss her dearly. Rest in peace Dear First Cousin. Love you.

Tarra, So difficult not to be able to be by your side and to hug you during this difficult time. Aunt Catherine thought the world of you, you were definitely her special Daughter, she was so proud of you. She had a dry sense of humor that we will miss, she always wanted us to come to Newfoundland to visit her and the opportunity didn't happen. I am glad we ran into you both that snowy night at the Irving, even when she wasn't feeling her best, she took the time to chat and hug us our last hug from a wonderful lady. Just know that we are thinking of you and your family and hope to see you soon to give you that hug.
All our love and sympathy. Sandra, Geraldine & Susan
