Carol and the Hennigar family:
My memories of Thomas Hennigar go back to our early childhood days near Shubenacadie. Tom was always known to me as ‘Tommy’, Chester’s ( again known to me as ‘Sonny’) little brother. My parents (Max and Peggy Williams) and Tommy’s parents were the best of friends and we spent much time together at the Hennigar’s home and they at ours. As sadly happens, after high school graduation, we went in different directions and lost touch for many years. A few years ago, however, Tommy got in touch with me and invited my sister and I to attend the Hennigar family reunion at his home in Upper Kennetcook. It was like we never had been apart all those years. Memories of that day and our childhood years will live on forever in my heart. I am sure that each and every member of your family have many happy memories of your lives together with Tommy and I pray these memories will help you through these difficult days and bring smiles rather than tears in the days to come. Rest In Peace dear friend

My condolences to Tom's family and close friends. I worked with Tom in Halifax and he always had time to share a smile and brighten my day. He came to our home once to get a dog pen we had before our yard was fenced and was so kind to our barking, jumping yellow lab. A sweet man.

I have only known Tom (Carol, and the dogs) for the past 12 years but quickly grew to love them upon introduction. When in Kennetcook, there was never a time when Jeff and I would either be at their house, or Tom and Carol would be "up at the camp” or all of us, at their cabin together – feeding and waiting for the deer to arrive at dusk. We had many great times together. I especially enjoyed our times around the campfires and the many shared “sociables” … and oh, it would be remiss of me not to mention the one thing I could have endured less of when Tom and Jeff were together - the amount of flatulence - okay “farts” - often let loose by the two of them no matter who was near. Many of giggles over gas.
Even when Tom’s physical health started to fail him, his mind remained sharp. He continued to share stories about family, community and travels, and was never reluctant to express his strong opinions around worldly political affairs, business or sports – all while sipping his favourite beers, of course. I felt like I knew Tom his entire life. I believe Tom lived a full life. Just last year, Tom told me there wasn’t anything left on his “bucket list.” He had done everything he really wanted to do and had gone the places he most wanted to see – majority of it, with his “lovely wife”, Carol.
My heartfelt condolences go out to Carol, Wendy, Sharon, David, and their families, as well as special friends Pam and Barry from England. I know Tom played an important role in many of our lives and he will be sadly missed. For me, Kennetcook will not feel the same without Tom, but I will try not to cry because his life is over. I will smile because his life happened. Rest in Peace, Tom.
With Sincere Sympathy,
Brenda Blakeney

Share a memory of Tom...there are so many good memories and lessons learned from Tom. Back in 2000, I met Tom and shortly after started doing business with him. He mentored me when he needed something done that he didn't probably want to do, but the good years were the ones working with Tom. Our work relationship turned into a friendship and I can say that Tom's passing leaves a big empty spot. I was able to visit with Tom and Carol this winter -Carol my thoughts will be with you and the rest of Tom's family. Please let me know if you need anything at all. xo Debbie Taylor

my condolences to Carol, and all of Tom's family. I first meet Tom back in 2004, when I first started working with him at Eastlink in Halifax. Tom always had to read his paper first thing every morning, and then he was ready to tackle the days events and adventures. I was lucky to be part of his daily ritual for 5 great years. He shared a lot of knowledge about business and life with me over these years, We got to do a lot of long road trips from Yarmouth to Sydney and every once in awhile we would make a few detours to look at a something along our route that caught Tom's eye, that he figured he could buy for a great deal. Not a day went by during a meeting with Tom, or sitting down to lunch together, that he didn't talk about carol, or his Children, and how can we forget, the dogs.
I will never forgot those years and those times spent with Tom. he will be missed greatly, rest in peace Tom.

I knew Tom from my teen years, when Mom worked with him at Fredericton/Fundy Cable. He would later become my boss many years later at Bragg Communications. He and Carol Ann were so good to me when I first moved to Amherst, and I have never forgotten. Prayers going up for his family and may he Rest In Peace.
