Obituary of Rowan Lloyd Shaw

SHAW, Rowan Lloyd, at the tender age of fifteen months, passed away peacefully at home, near sunrise, on September 24, 2020.

Beloved friends and family brought incredible love and support to the family home for a final morning of togetherness and appreciation of Rowan's precious life.

Row’s time with us on earth was far too short, but the love that surrounded him will last a lifetime. For those who were blessed to have known Row, it is obvious that his mission was to teach others about love and connection-the most important lessons in any life. We will cherish these lessons and spend our lives living up to these profound truths. Rowan’s older brother, Eli will forever cherish the profound connection they shared. Eli always put the care and comfort of his brother above everything else and had an innate understanding of Rowan’s needs.

Parents Jacklyn and Derrick Shaw wish to acknowledge Rowan's wonderful medical team with special thanks to Dr Stacie Colwell, Shauna Wilcox and Dr Egidio Spinelli who helped the family understand and manage symptoms of Rowan's Krabbe disease.

Thanks belong as well in enormity to a long list of generous donors who made it possible for the family to keep Rowan comfortable at home with proper medical supplies, nutrition, and very demanding daily care.  Rowan created and will keep a special place in many hearts.

Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of Ettinger Funeral Home. Shubenacadie. Family will later communicate details of a small Celebration of Life for precious Rowan. May he forever rest in peace after his short time here with us.
