Dearest Sylvia and family, I am so saddened to hear of Rupert's passing. He was such a quietly humble man, a true "salt of the earth" gentleman. He has touched so many lives and he will be fondly remembered for a multitude of reasons. My connection to Rupert, through you Sylvia and through my children as bus students, gives me many warm memories of a man who always cared about those he came in contact with. My sincerest sympathy to each and everyone of you for your loss. Hugs, Norma Searle

Sylvia, Eva and all the Pineo family:
Please accept our sincere sympathy on your loss. We've known Rupert for years and always held a lot of respect for him. First he was our newspaper deliverer; then our son's bus driver; a member of the Shubenacadie United Church where we attend and lastly he joined our little lunch group on Fridays at Whistler's for a short time with Ross Barr. After lunch they both would go to a nearby friend's house for an afternoon of cards. He would always have a story or two to tell. Keep all the good memories close to your hearts.

On behalf of Wilfred MacPhee and his wife, Jane, and children, Susan and Colin, I’d like to extent our heartfelt condolences. Our dad, Wilf, always spoke very fondly of Rupert and often with a chuckle. As Dad’s dementia was progressing, he increasingly talked about all the good times in Shubie with his cousins. It was obviously a happy place that he and Rupert shared. Wishing you good health in 2021, the MacPhees.

I am so saddened to hear of Rupert's passing. I have many memories of him; from driving the bus, to being a neighbour up the road. My favourite memory is the stories he told me of dad when dad had passed away; stories I of course, didn't know but will always cherish...that speaks a lot of the man Rupert was , wanting to share.
My thoughts are with you all at this difficult time.
