MULA, Mary Maude – age 81 of Lantz, passed away peacefully on January 8, 2022, in Hospice Halifax. Born in Dauphin, Manitoba, she was a daughter of the late Clarence John and Florence Ethelena (Durston) Seale.
Mary was raised in the Dauphin, MB rural area and was well acquainted with country school attendance and farm living. Over the course of her life, she shared with her children and grandchildren many stories that involved her extended family and country experiences. A graduate of the Dauphin Collegiate and Technical Institute in Home Economics, Mary spent a very happy time in her life working as a dietitian at the local hospital. Following this, she attended the Winnipeg Bible College which contributed to her lifelong devotion to the Lord. In August 1962 she married Rudy and they toured the CF bases of Manitoba at Winnipeg, Rivers and Portage la Prairie. Besides raising her own children, Mary devoted herself to childcare in her home and helped co-found a community daycare. After Rudy’s completed service with the CF, she worked together with him as they owned and operated Dauphin’s Book Nook store. Residing in Nova Scotia since 2002, Mary continued to support her family with time, love and generosity. She will be greatly missed by Rudy, Melanie and Kevin, Johnna, and her grandchildren.
