FORBES, Margaret (Maggie) Edith

Today we honour and celebrate the beautiful, powerful and magnificent soul that was Margaret Edith Forbes. She was Maggie to all and to those who knew her well she was Mystical Maggie and Magical Maggie. She entered this life in Bonnie Glen, Alberta on November 25, 1936 during deeply tumultuous times. Her life was filled with challenge and hardships of all flavours and orientations which she took on with unyielding courage, determination and a committed belief that we are all here on this planet at this time to change the trajectory of our collective experience.

Over the years she wielded her magic wherever she went and offered her pearls of deep wisdom and understanding to anyone who needed it or asked for it. Her capacity to listen with rapt attention and endless compassion and without judgment, to accept people for exactly who they were and where they were at in their own lives, was profound and limitless.  Maggie was pure love on legs and she would not only share that love but she would actively BE that love to and with and for anyone and everyone who came into contact with her, whether they knew they needed that or not.

She was a creative in this life; a singer, performer, mystic, astrologer, intuitive, pioneer, adventurer and visionary. Words like “magnificent, magical, trail-blazer, compassionate, insightful, wise, warm, willing and deeply loving” are all words that have been used to describe her over the years but they fail to encompass the totality of her beauty, grace and personal power. She impacted everyone she came into contact with and she changed lives without ever really knowing the full scope of her power and influence.

She transcended this life at home and on her own terms, on Thursday December 15, 2022 in the early morning hours, in her newly renovated luxury suite, accompanied by her beloved kitties who walked her out. She simply closed her eyes and stepped into vast blue skies.

She will be remembered dearly by all and her legacy of love will be forwarded by her sons Daniel Forbes and Shane Dolimont, her daughter Kerry Forbes and her partners in creation Kevin Connelly and Sharon English. She is now free to express fully in joy and carry on her work from a place unencumbered by the limitations of the human experience.  She will be missed more than words could ever possibly articulate and although she is gone from this realm, her energy will be felt for an eternity. 

Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of Ettinger Funeral Home, Shubenacadie. As per Maggie’s request her service shall take place solely in your heart.

Any memorial donations to be made in Maggie’s memory can be made to the CNIB (Cdn. National Institute for the Blind) or to your nearest Goodwill or SPCA.
