Obituary of Bill Scott

SCOTT, William J.P. “Bill” - age 88 of Enfield and Caribou River died peacefully on March 22 at Drummond Hall, Halifax following a period of declining health, two days shy of his 89th birthday. Born in Halifax, he was a son of the late Charles and Loretta (Peake) Scott.  He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.  

Bill proudly grew up in the north end of Halifax, spent a few years in Dartmouth and moved the family to Enfield in 1965. In the early 1970s, he built his camp in Renfrew (good times had by all).  In 1981 he built the cottage at Caribou River. He worked for JW Lindsay Enterprises for over 35 years. Bill enjoyed his family, his time in Renfrew and the cottage, travel, walking, the outdoors, hockey and working on his many projects.)  He loved feeding the birds, and many of us were the recipients of his wood carvings and rock paintings.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years Pat (Nightingale); daughters, Darlene (Mitchell), West Paradise, Cindy (Michel), Ashton, ON; their families, Katie, Chantal, Michel Jr. and Serge; three step great grand daughters; sister in laws, Laraine and Dorothy; many nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his other family, the McKays of Caribou River, who have provided support and friendship for over 40 years.

Bill was predeceased by his brothers, Ken and “Sonny” Charles Vincent, who he missed every day.

Cremation has taken place under the care of Ettinger Funeral Homes, Shubenacadie and Elmsdale.

Funeral Service will be held at 10am on Tuesday, March 28^th, 2023 at St. Bernard’s Roman Catholic Church, Enfield. Father Gerald David officiating.
