Obituary of Beaver Maloney

MALONEY Emile Mark “Beaver”, age 64, of Indian Brook.

 We are sad to announce that on May 1, 2023, at the age of 64, “Beaver” Maloney of Sipekne’katik, Nova Scotia passed away suddenly. Born in Truro on March 17, 1959, he was a son of the late Mathew and Martha Maloney.

Beaver had a personality that was larger than life. He loved to check in and visit family, and he loved being Indian Brook’s sassiest community member. He was happiest when he was working with his friends and family.

Beaver is survived by his siblings, AJ (Doris) Maloney, Lorraine Bernard, Vernon Maloney, Ruth (Mike) Loft, Marcella Hillier and Thomas Maloney; numerous nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his daughter, Starlene Augustine; siblings, Audrey, Eugene, Jackie, Gerald, Stewart, Peter, Kenny, and two siblings in infancy.

Visitation will begin at 7pm on Wednesday, May 3, 2023 at 175 Sesame Street, Indian Brook until time of service that will be take place at 11am on Saturday, May 6, 2023 in St. Kateri’s Roman Catholic Church, Indian Brook, Father Phil Thibodeau officiating. Burial will follow in St. Catherine’s Cemetery, Indian Brook.

Salite will be held during the community meal at the Community Centre after the  burial.
