To the family of Wayne,
As a new teacher at Halifax West in the mid 80’s, it was a great comfort to have such a kind and gentle role model in the same staff room. I will never forget Wayne’s smile, and his positive attitude was obviously just who he was, inside and outside of the classroom. I am sending my deepest sympathies and most positive thoughts and prayers to you all.

I wish to offer condolences to Bonnie and to Wayne's family. I have known Wayne since we were teenagers playing baseball on the Halifax Commons, and I also remember him very well as probably the fastest and smoothest skater in university hockey at Saint Mary's, when his speed enabled him to win numerous breakaways and score exciting goals. We were also co-teachers during the 1970s and '80s at Halifax West High School, where he was one of the friendliest and most likable members of staff, to his fellow teachers as well as to his students. I was pleased to read of his very active life in the community, but I also remember him as a down-to-earth and humble person despite his many achievements. With kindest regards to all of Wayne's family and friends.
Sincerely, Burris Devanney.

Sending sincere condolences to Bonnie, Wayne Jr, Tracy and families in the passing of Wayne Sr.
I have many fond memories of the Keddy family while living here in Enfield; but most especially from St. Bernard's church where Bonnie and Wayne attended and participated in so fully over the years. May your faith be rewarded with eternal rest for Wayne and may it bring comfort to those left to grieve the loss of his physical presence with you. Take Care and God Bless you all.

Dear Bonny and family,
I bowled on Wayne’s team for many years. He loved the social aspect and the competition. Every Wednesday was a chance to sit and talk with Wayne. He often mentioned his children and their accomplishments. He was so proud of them. And as well, his wife Bonnie was part of our weekly catching up of news. Wayne was a quiet, gentle, and “ salt of the earth” guy. The smile on his face when he bowled well belied his competitive nature. That is evident as I read about his athletic achievements. . And I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention how he talked about his horses. They were part of his family. I’ve not seen Wayne since Covid ended the bowling league. But when I think back to all the years we bowled, I was privileged to have known such a lovely guy with an always present smile and sense of humour. Rest in peace Wayne.

Wayne Keddy was my grade 12 math teacher at Halifax West High School. He made math fun, and he was one of my favourite teachers. I recall my final exam in geometry in June of 1969. When I turned the exam paper to read the questions, everything went blank and I started to panic. Mr. Keddy came to my desk to find out what was my problem. He offered me words of encouragement: relax, be calm, you know the work, take your mind off the exam paper for a while and it will all come back to you. I did as Mr. Keddy advised and, within a few minutes, the questions made sense to me and I finished the exam. I've repeated that memory many times over the years. That was Mr. Keddy - dedicated, caring, a mentor. My condolences to the family.

I’m so very sorry to hear of the passing of Mr Keddy. He was my math teacher in grade 11 way back in the late 80’s, and he was the only teacher who was able to help me get good grades in math even though I struggled with it. He was a great man and he will be missed. My condolences to his family and friends.
