First and foremost I’m sending my love, Joan I have a lot of wonderful memories of Syd I spent 20 odd years with Joan and Syd on the farm Syd and I spent a lot of time on the farm. He taught me how to drive a post with the tractor he used to say to me why are you so easy to get along with? I replied because you’re so easy to get along with we had such fun and painting we did a lot of painting we are painting one day he said to me are you painting with your left hand? And I said yes he’s said aren’t you were right handed I said yes well I thought I was the only one that can do that sorry Syd I can then he tells me about the days he was a painter I think my favourite memory and there’s so so many, but it was the bond that he had for his horse poncho, but he loved all of his animals I am going to miss you,Syd

I have such fond memories of Syd both from my childhood and adulthood. His sense of humor and antics were legendary. From Cooking me funnel cakes on the spur of a moment, to taking me sailing, to supporting me at graduations his kindness and love were immense. I first met Syd when I was around six. His accomplishments to an adult were impressive but to a child they were the stuff of legends. His stories of travel, flying planes, riding horses, sailing boats all inspired and fascinated me. He was a pilot, a sailor, a cowboy, a successful business man and a world traveler. I am so appreciative of the time spent with him at the lake house and farm in NS and all the visits to Pennsylvania. Syd was our Canadian family and I am so glad he was part of my life.

DEAR, DEAR friend for over fifty years. The Syd we knew has been gone for a l o n g time--but now he's gone home to his heavenly home. Acts 16:31 Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved..
Hebrews 13:5 I will never leave you or forsake you.
Now, Joan & all the family the following is for you.
SOMETHING BEAUTIFUL TO PONDER
You can shed tears because he is gone,or you can smile because he lived. You can close your eyes and pray he will come back, or you can open your eyes and see all that he left for you.
Your heart can be empty because you can't see him, or you can be full of the love you shared. You can turn your back on tomorrow and live yesterday, or you can be happy for tomorrow because of yesterday.
You can remember only that he is gone, or you can cherish his memory and let it live on. You can cry and close your mind and feel empty, or you can do what he would want.
Smile, Joan, open your heart dear friend, love and go on.. With love & prayers
GWEN for GWEN & CLINT MARBLE....friends forever.

Dear Joan,
Syd has always been one of my favorite people and my childhood hero. Most of my favorite memories as a kid remain vivid because of his love for sister Leslie and I. From the trips out on the ocean in the boat to learning how to shoot a gun, catching fish and flying in the airplane. No matter how busy he was he always made time for us kids and his sense of humor sticks with me as if it were yesterday! I'll never forget crying in school when the teacher made me stand in the corner for lying to my classmates. The teacher called my father to the school to tell him what I was saying and after telling my father that I was lying saying I had flown to Moncton for lobster dinner on a Tuesday night It felt so good when my father said "whats wrong with that? that's what he did last night". We were so lucky to have Syd and Joan as our god parents, neighbors and friends. The world has lost one of the most amazing men that I have ever had the pleasure of having in my life. the world would be a much better place of we could only have another Syd Kingham. Rest in peace Sydney, we love you unconditionally and will miss you sorely till the day we meet again.
sincerely

Joan,
Linda and I were saddened to hear of Sid's passing. Even though we lost touch over the past few years, I would often think of many flights we took together, in his plane or mine. He was an excellent pilot, and I learned a lot from him. Remembering his dry sense of humor still brings a smile to my face.
Our heartfelt condolences,
Bern & Linda Davies

I have the fondest memories of talking with Syd at the IMP hanger where he kept his planes, flying with him in the Citabria and the twin Seneca, and landing at the farm in Middleton and sharing coffee and Joan’s cake while sitting on the back deck. He was the most genial and interesting man and I very much valued his friendship. Joan, I am sorry for your loss.

We had some great times with Syd and Joan over many years. Time on the boat, out trip to Portland Maine in the plane, and some great parties at the farm. Together Syd and Joan were fantastic hosts for whatever they undertook. He was a very fine man who had a rewarding life.

Auntie Joan my thoughts and prayers are with you.
Uncle Syd was a one of a kind character. He will be missed so dearly.
One of my fondest memories was when you guys would fly here with the load. Fresh lobsters for all to share. The house was full of family and you taught us all how to prepare the critters. The baked spaghetti that never ended was also a real treat. I would sit and listen to his brilliant and funny stories for hours. His humor was that, that couldn't be touched. He'd throw in funny things, just so he knew you were listening. As I became older, his advice was always welcome and admired. I will miss him here, but know that he is finally at rest with his family...
God bless
Peggy
