I knew Jerry for a short time in the early 1980s when we both served in C Bty. I was a gunline officer, just new to 1 RCHA, and Jerry was a (somewhat) grizzled older NCO with considerable TI and who tolerated junior officers such as me, only just. We got along fine, and perhaps the fact we were both Bluenosers helped. Jerry gave terrific service to the guns throughout his career, for which we are all thankful. I've attached a photo I took of Jerry and (then) Major Don McLaughlin, BC C, at the OP at Grafenwöhr, Germany, in January 1985.
