Obituary of John James Morgan
MORGAN, John James “JJ”, age 87, of East Gore, passed away Thursday, November 16, 2023 in the Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro. Born in Whiteside, Cape Breton, he was a son of the late John and Vida (Proctor) Morgan.
John was a member of the ILA (Long Shoreman Association) for 40 years. He was a gang foreman and machine operator until his retirement in 2001. John always had a love for all animals and enjoyed his hobby farm. His love was unconditional for all animals.
John will be sadly missed by his wife of 32 years, Shirley (Harper) (Sangster); children, Barry (Peggy), Shelley (Tom), Valerie (Ron); Glenda (Eddie) and Frank. stepchildren, Gordon (Maxine) and Ross Sangster (Clariece); grandchildren, Christina, Danny, Julia, Hannah, Cameron, Mitchell, Derrick, Chrystal, Joey, Alycia, Chris, Brooklynn, great grandchildren Dylan, Ava, Lennox, Theodore, Cora, Riley, Isaac, River, Dominion, Kyle, Taylor, Emily, Jackson, Lucas, Riley, Rory; brothers, Terry (Colleen), Austin, Lester and Brian, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a brother, Carroll, sister, Anne Marie Felix; a son in infancy, a stepdaughter, Valerie Deveau.
A Celebration of Life will be held from 2-4PM Saturday, December 2, 2023 in Ettinger Funeral Home, 2812 Highway 2, Shubenacadie.
A special thank you to our neighbor Jonathan Fancy for being his moon in his darkest times, showing him there was a glimmer of brightness waiting to guide him. The kindness and friendship throughout the years showing him patience, time and compassion, giving him comfort and love meant the world to him as if you were one of his sons. The love you showed will always be cherished. Jonathan you have made a significant difference in our lives and for that we will be forever thankful.
Thank you Chrystal Diamond, for coming over every night for over 5 years, you have been a guiding star through your selfless dedication through the challenging times. Your compassion and tireless efforts made a difference to John. The love and bond you two had will always be your light. Thank you Dylan Budden, for helping out when you were needed, he knew how much you loved him. He looked forward to you coming over to see him.
