Obituary of David Donald McCulloch

McCULLOCH, David Donald – age 86, of Valley, Colchester County, passed away peacefully at home on August 25, 2024. Born in North Noel Road, he was a son to the late Rosslyn and Marion (Hayes) McCulloch.

Bold and daring from a young age, David was an entrepreneur and adventurer. His fascination with flight began early. He became a skilled, world record-setting pilot, flying various aircraft, including several exotic jets, over 50 years. His adventurous spirit propelled him to seek out new experiences with curiosity and imagination. Drawing heavy inspiration from the strong, successful women in his life, David’s entrepreneurial spirit, intuition, drive, and charisma made him a force.

David is survived by his son, Jeffrey; daughters, Dawn, Stephanie, and Kathryn (Tony); grandchildren, Alexander, Vanessa, Xander and Callum; sisters, Marilyn, Alice and Joanne (Philip); and partner, Margaret.

He was predeceased by his sister, Joyce, and brother, Gordon.

David will be deeply missed by all those who knew and loved him.

A Celebration of Life will be held from 1-3pm on Saturday, August 31, 2024, at Ettinger Funeral Homes, 2812 Highway 2, Shubenacadie. Words of Remembrance will be shared at 2pm. A livestream from 1-3pm will be available at:

The Celebration of Life will be followed by a private, family interment.
