Sharon, Sue, Stephen and families,
I just read of Lorna's passing and send my deepest sympathy to you all. I first met Lorna as a parent of my student. As time went by Lorna chose to go back to teaching as a career much to the delight of her students. Lorna had a personality that brought out the best in her students. As a friend and co worker she would see the bright side and forever made you laugh. Thinking of you as you mourn her passing. She will always be in your heart and brought to mind as you go through your daily living.

I have many many fond memories of Lorna, back to my early childhood days with her at the rink cheering on Stephen and his teammates . More recently but not so recently when she taught my son Brock at Riverside education center, she was a great asset to his education. May you be at peace that she is now with Mark once again and will take good care of him, God bless you all

Lorna was one of the first staff members I met on my first day at my new job at Riverside Education Centre in the summer of 1998. I did not know Lorna well before that day, but in no time we got to know each other very well and became great friends at work and outside work. We definitely had lots of great chats, laughs and fun times together, memories I will cherish forever. As someone said to me today, Lorna was a “hoot”, I thought, this is so true. After Lorna retired we continued to get together, always trying to do our annual summer luncheons at Sheila Robinson’s, it was always so nice to catch up and to reminisce about the “old” days at REC. Derek and I are sending our condolences to all of Lorna’s family, you are in our thoughts at this sad and difficult time ❤️ Michelle Bailey

I was so sorry to read of Lorna's passing. I worked at Riverside Education Centre while Lorna was there. .To say she was quite a character would be an understatement. You could always be guaranteed of a laugh whenever she was around and she did not mince words. I also had the privilege of visiting the cabin at Shortt's Lake for one of the staff parties. Condolences to all the family. Judy Bishop

To the entire Thompson Family, Please accept my deepest condolences. It was sad to read Lorna’s obituary today but I take solace in knowing her suffering is now over. As an Elmsdale District School colleague and friend,I have so many fond memories of working, laughing and socializing with Lorna. Lorna was the epitome of a life long learner who dedicated much hard work to her students and to her community. I know how much she loved her teaching career but I also know she loved her family more. Lorna was always so proud of each and every one of you. May she rest in perfect peace.
Take comfort in your happy memories and take care. Thinking of you. -Cheryl Scotland

Dear Steven, Claudia and family,
Sincere condolences on Lornas passing. She had a full and busy life making a difference in people's lives. I remember her wonderful smile especially with the red hatters group. It's always hard when their last years are less than they deserve as they become frail and lose their fierce independence. But you have the memories to sustain you. God bless.

I am so sorry to learn of my friend Lorna’s passing. I have always known Lorna, but got to know her well and became good friends during our many “Red Hat” outings and conventions. We always had so much fun, I remember the many RedHat fun evenings at her house, although I have not seen much of Lorna in recent years, I will always remember and miss her. My sincere condolences to the family.
