Obituary of Joey Osborne
OSBORNE, Joseph Carl – age 60 of Grand Lake, passed away peacefully at home on October 21, 2024. Born in Halifax, he was a son of the late Aubrey and Grace (MacDonald) Osborne.
Joey worked for IMP Aerospace for 36 years. He had many hobbies including going to camp “Big Buck” with the guys, fishing and four wheeling. In his younger years, Joey was a volunteer firefighter for Grand Lake Fire Hall. When his children were younger Joey loved to camp with his family. You could always find him in front of the BBQ with his glass of rum and Pepsi. Joey had a great appreciation for music and enjoyed going to watch local musicians perform. He also spent many years with the Canfields at AMP. Joey was known for helping people in the community and never expected anything in return for his help.
Joey is survived by his wife, Jennifer; children, Kyle (Erin), Hannah (Shane); Haley; grandson, Henry; granddaughters, Rose and Emalee; brothers, Wade (Joanne), Kevin (Linda), Leonard (Cathy); sister, Cindy (Carl); many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents he was predeceased by his brother, Dale.
Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of Ettinger Funeral Homes Elmsdale and Shubenacadie. A celebration of life will be held on Tuesday, October 29th from 11am - 2pm at the Grand Lake Community Hall, 22 Lakeside Drive, Grand Lake. No graveside service will take place.
The family would like to extend their sincere thanks to Joey’s caregiver, Rebecca, and the friends that came to visit and bring treats.
