Obituary of Josiah Hayes Gordon Howe-Marshall

HOWE-MARSHALL, Josiah “Joe” Hayes Gordon, age 25, of Indian Brook / Millbrook, passed away on October 29, 2024 at his father’s residence in Millbrook.  Born in Halifax, he was a son of Carol Howe and Jason Marshall. 

 

Joe enjoyed fishing and being around his family- of which he was the baby.  He was charming, humorous and was quick to make friends. He would go to great lengths to make people laugh.  Joe participated in traditional ceremonies and he stood up for the protection of the water and our rights. 

 

Besides his parents, he is survived by his sister, Wabuhno Howe (Darrell); brothers Eli Paul (Vanessa) and Jesse Paul (Meagann); nephews, Mackalen, Ryder, Heatley, Fiercen and Darrell Jr.; nieces, Kandace, Karo, Rainbow, Lilly, Aletra, Angeliah, Valentine and Arellaina (goddaughter); uncles Jonathan Marshall and Steve Marshall; godparents, Eileen Marr and William Sack. 

 

He was predeceased by brother Brian “BJ” Paul; paternal grandparents, Lorraine Gould and Steve Marshall Sr.; maternal grandparents, Gordon and Madeline Howe; niece Azheline.

 

Visitation will begin 6pm Thursday, October 31st until time of traditional service at approximately 1pm Sunday, November 3rd at 560 Church Street, Indian Brook.

Traditional burial will take follow in St. Catherine’s Cemetery.
