Obituary of Ferne Cole

Cole, Ferne Taylor-Oldham With heavy hearts we announce the passing of our mother, grandmother and friend who left us quietly at home on Friday, December 5th. Born in Carrolls Corner, she was a daughter of the late James and Winnifred (Taylor) Newman. Ferne was very active and loved an adventure. She was an Avon President Club representative for over 30 years. She was an exceptional worker for her community and at home. She was still able to work part time until very recently. She was devoted to her family, was an avid gardener and animal lover. Ferne is survived by sons, Len (Deborah); Kevin (Darcy); Roger (Paula); and daughter, Darlene (Neil); grandchildren, Krista; Stephen; Derek; Luke; Kayley; Jessie; Hannah; Jonah; James; Jemma; Christopher; brothers and sisters, June; Helen; Joyce; Glen and Fred; several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her loving husband, Ambrose; sisters, Ruth; Laura; brothers, Harry and Bob, and Willis in infancy. Visitation will be held 6-8pm Wednesday December 10 at Ettinger Funeral Home 2812 Highway 2, Shubenacadie. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 am Thursday, December 11 at St Bernard's Roman Catholic Church, Enfield, Father Michael Walsh officiating. Interment to follow in the parish cemetery.
