Obituary of Carl George Barbrick

BARBRICK Carl, 68 of Shubenacadie passed away at Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro, on Saturday March 14, 2015, with his family by his side. Born in Truro on July 7th 1946, he was the son of the late Cecil and Irene (Hilchey) Barbrick. Carl was a dedicated truck driver for an auto carrier company from 1974 -2007. He owned and operated C. Barbrick Siding for over 10 years. Prior to Carl's illness he enjoyed playing darts, fishing, baseball and playing cards. He was a very generous person always putting everyone else's needs ahead of his own. Carl was very proud of his children and grandchildren and especially enjoyed family meals and get-togethers. Survived by his wife Josephine (Hawco) Barbrick, son Randy, daughter Shanda (Ben) Sheehy, grandchildren, Carmine Demone, Erica and Mitchell Sheehy, sisters Ruth Lattie (Lawrence MacDonald) Sandy (Reggie) Parker, numerous nieces and nephews and special family friend Rick Carnohan. He was predeceased by his grandparents Waldon Barbrick and Beatrice Barbrick, who raised him as her son. He also will be missed by his Tim Horton's family in Stewiacke. Visitation will be from 5-8pm Wednesday March 18 at Ettinger Funeral Home 2812 Highway 2, Shubenacadie, from where a funeral service will be held 2pm Thursday, Reverend Carl Fraser officiating. Spring interment will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Stewiacke East. Special thank you to the Daphne Barr and the ICU nurses of CEHHC for the very special care given to Carl. Memorial donations may be made to the Lung Association or Diabetic Association or a charity of choice.
