Obituary of Anne M. Lively
Please share a memory of Anne to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
LIVELY, ANNE M. Enfield NS- Age 62. It is with profound love, but broken hearts that we announce the passing of Anne. On October 15th 2015 in the Toronto General Hospital, surrounded by her family, she peacefully went to be with her Lord and Saviour. Ever thankful to her donor, she met her challenges of a double lung transplant with grace and determination to honour the gift of life she received. She was a devoted Catholic and active in the community, as exemplified by holding various offices of the Catholics Women’s League; a past president of the Women’s Institute; and a volunteer for the Canadian Cancer Society, Heart and Stroke Foundation, Diabetes Association, and others. Prior to her recent health challenges, Anne very much enjoyed bowling, playing scrabble and cribbage, tending to her flower gardens, boating on the lake at her Enfield home, spending time at her cottage, and most of all family. She had also enjoyed hunting and fishing alongside of her husband, and also loved to dance together. Anne had an infectious smile, carried a positive attitude, and was a very social person. A stranger was just a new friend she was meeting for the first time. She was a person full of energy, loved talking with people, and faithfully prayed for all she encountered. Anne truly enjoyed a good party, was a friend to many, and loved by all; she will be immensely missed by all who knew her. Anne is survived by her loving husband, Harold, Enfield NS; daughter, Alana Hines (Mike), Dutch Settlement NS; son, Chris (Carley), Truro NS; the light of her life, grandson, Ethan Hines, Dutch Settlement, NS; brother, Craig O’Donnell (Anne), Middleton NS; stepdad, John LeClerc, Cleveland NS; and many nieces and nephews. Anne is also survived by Harold’s siblings, Robert, Joanne, Judy, and Marion, whom she helped raise, and as well is survived by their spouses. Anne was predeceased by her parents, Edward and Virginnia (Ginny) O’Donnell, and sister Margaret O’Donnell. Cremation has taken place and remains entrusted to Ettinger Funeral Home. Funeral Mass 11:00am, Friday October 23rd 2015 at St. Bernard’s Roman Catholic Church in Enfield, with Father Michael Walsh officiating. A reception will follow at Enfield Fire hall. Many thanks to Eileen MacLean; the Catholics Women’s League; Dr. George Burden; The doctors, nurses and care workers at the Toronto General and Toronto Rehabilitation hospitals; and our “Transplant Friends”. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice. Condolences, words of comfort and memories of Anne may be shared with the family at www.ettingerfuneralhome.com
