Obituary of Leonard Wallace Brown

BROWN, Leonard Wallace- Age 69, Mill Village, passed away suddenly at home on November 14, 2015. Born in Halifax, he was a son of the late Calvin and Ruth (Wallace) Brown. Leonard was quiet, good natured and well liked. He loved trucks, motorcycles, anything with wheels, and spending time in his garage. He enjoyed listening to old country music, shots of Jack Daniels or a glass of home brew wine, reading and also had a secret sweet-tooth. Leonard was a long haul trucker for many years and owned and operated his own trucking company. He retired after 22 years at the Halifax Stanfield International Airport where he worked as a heavy duty mechanic. Leonard is survived by his partner Susan MacDonald; son, Tim Dagley; daughters, Shelley Gordon (Stephen) and Natalie Brown; stepchildren, Kristin and Jeffrey MacDonald; grandchildren Caelan, Courteney, Cassidy, Matthew, Christian and Elijah; brother, Stephen; nephews, Stevie and Dale; niece, Candice Makhan. He will be missed by many friends and neighbours, especially close friends, Lennie McDonald, Dale and Geordie Barbrick, Roxanne Hiltchie, and his very special furry friend Mugsy. He was predeceased by daughter, Sherry Leigh; brother, Morris; sister, Rosemary Makhan; nephew, Kenneth Makhan. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Ettinger Funeral Home, Shubenacadie. As per his request, a Celebration of Life will be held at his garage, 3517 Indian Road, Mill Village from 2-4 and 7-9 pm Thursday, November 19. Memorial donations may be made to a charity of choice.
