Our family has been associated with KES for more than 40 years and through many of these Margaret McLellan has been known as a kind and loving benefactor whose support has allowed the school to provide many opportunities to worthy and appreciative students and faculty. We met Margaret on many school occasions and she was always humble and did never wanted to be thanked for all she had done. She will be sorely missed by all.

Please add my deepest condolences on the death of my dear friend and cconfidant Margaret McLellan. Margaret was much more than a friend to me and my family over the past sixty years ever since I was her paperboy in Halifax. She was a kind and generous person with a quick wit and great sense of humour and she will be sorely missed by all those who knew her well. Marg and her late husband Keith taught me so imany mportant life skills and principles to guide me for which I will always be thankful. I will greatly miss our monthly chats and frequent letters. Rest in peace Marg knowing that you made a positive difference in the lives of so many people.

We were very sadden to hear the passing of Mrs. Vair-McLellan or "MVM" as she was called in our offices at her request for anonymity. MVM took the time to learn about Brigadoon, our philosophy and approach to programming by speaking with our staff and closely following our progress. She befriended a number of staff members and was always encouraging and supportive in our efforts to create a national quality facility/organization in the Maritimes for children, youth and families living with a chronic illness, condition or special need. She developed a special friendship with one of our senior volunteer leaders, Ruby Blois. MVM's letters always were branded with her unique sense of humour and her advice was always very clear and blunt. Her trust, belief and very generous gift to Brigadoon helped us gain credibility at a crucial time in our development. The buildings she built at Brigadoon have sheltered hundreds of our campers, families and guests. For all she has done for Brigadoon we could not be any more grateful. Her modesty, character and generosity will serve children and youth in Atlantic Canada, and across Canada, for many years to come. The lives she has changed, including all our staff, are infinite. Peace to you Margaret.
With great respect, gratitude and condolences,
David McKeage on behalf of the Brigadoon Team

Oh, Margaret! I've missed you since you moved away from Middle - I enjoyed bumping into you around the village - besides offering a bit of guidance with whatever task I had on the go, you ALWAYS shared a giggle (or two)
Sincere condolences are extended at this time of sadness.

I first met Mrs. MacLellan as a governor of King's Edgehill School nearly fifteen years ago, and then later as the Chair of the Board of Governors. She was a wonderful person who took a sincere interest not only in the school but also in the students attending the school. She would visit the school on prize day and to watch the annual cadet inspection and could often be seen chatting away with students and faculty. Her generosity (given in memory of her husband Keith) helped the school to become what it is today, one of the leading independent coed day boarding schools in the country, by providing modern classroom and boarding facilities which now cater to a student population of over three hundred students from Atlantic Canada and around the world. She did this because her husband Keith had so enjoyed his time at the school and the education he had received there. I will remember her for her sense of humour and also for her modesty as she never sought any recognition for her philanthropy preferring to stay out of the limelight. King's Edgehill has lost a true friend and great supporter
