We were very sadden to hear the passing of Mrs. Vair-McLellan or "MVM" as she was called in our offices at her request for anonymity. MVM took the time to learn about Brigadoon, our philosophy and approach to programming by speaking with our staff and closely following our progress. She befriended a number of staff members and was always encouraging and supportive in our efforts to create a national quality facility/organization in the Maritimes for children, youth and families living with a chronic illness, condition or special need. She developed a special friendship with one of our senior volunteer leaders, Ruby Blois. MVM's letters always were branded with her unique sense of humour and her advice was always very clear and blunt. Her trust, belief and very generous gift to Brigadoon helped us gain credibility at a crucial time in our development. The buildings she built at Brigadoon have sheltered hundreds of our campers, families and guests. For all she has done for Brigadoon we could not be any more grateful. Her modesty, character and generosity will serve children and youth in Atlantic Canada, and across Canada, for many years to come. The lives she has changed, including all our staff, are infinite.
