Dear Walter & family,
So sorry to hear about your father's passing. Your Dad was a dear man and he will be greatly missed. Another good Cape Bretoner has gone home. I got to know him years ago at the Masonic book sales and always looked forward to having a good chin-wag with him there, or whenever I met him at the grocery store and elsewhere. My Mom died just a few days after your Dad, and though they may not have met on Earth, I can just imagine those two Cape Bretoners greeting each other like old friends Up There and settling down for a lovely chat.
God Bless and comfort you in your loss.
Sincerely, Claire Guyette

With sadness, we extend our sympathy to all of your family. Walter and Nan were among the original homeowners in our subdivision and so, for over
40 years, we have passed by their home on the corner. We will miss
seeing Walter out and about in his yard, always with a wave or a short conversation. He was one of our outstanding community-minded individuals and we all benefited from his volunteering and dedication.
Take care,
Wade & Betty

To Walter's Family,
Please accept our deepest sympathy on the recent passing of Walter. We always looked forward to seeing Walter in Margaree. Walter would plant a little garden close to the cabin and then would tell us to come over and help ourselves to the beans, lettuce, and whatever else was growing. We will remember Walter as a generous and gentle man. Deepest sympathy to all.

As you are all aware, I had the pleasure of working with Walter for many years, and getting to know all of you, his children. Throughout that time we shared many memories and experiences. The two things that impressed me the most about Walter, were the deep love he expressed for Nan and his children, and the way he always managed to keep his cool, no matter what! He was a true politician, if there ever was one. His integrity and diligence were characteristics I always admired, and are special gifts.
The experience of having been a friend and co-worker of Walter's, has done much to shape how I have lived my own life. I am confident you all know the Walter I know and remember. You should be very proud of him, he was like a diamond, precious and rare.

We wish to extend our condolences to all of Walter's family members. We wish we had an opportunity to meet and know you all. (Walter and I were both born in 1935, and were first cousins. My mother was Harriet Phoebe Tingley, one of the fifteen children of Judson & Elizabeth Tingley.) I have many fond memories of playing with Walter as he spent the summer on the Tingley farm in Portree. May God bless and comfort you all.
