Obituary of Dorothy Pearl Googoo

GOOGOO, Dorothy “Dot” Pearl-age 72, Indian Brook passed away peacefully surrounded by family December 4, 2015 in Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro. Born in Truro, she was a daughter of the late John Leslie and Rosie Higgins. She was a loving and kind individual, who gave freely and discreetly of anything she had. She had a wonderful sense of humour-she was sassy and silly. She was musical, having sung in St. Kateri Church choir for many years. She performed with her husband in years past. She worked for the Shubenacadie Band Tobacco Shop for more than 25 years. Dorothy is survived by her children, Bonnie, Debbie, Leslie, Darin, Verlie and Jesse; grandchildren, Duane T., Yasmine, Aaron, Elias, Jodie, Cody, Lyndon, Jakob, Trent, Vince, Rachael, Lloydie, Sherry, Jeremy and Mason; great grandchildren, Gage, Harmony, Kaden, Ameliyah, Nevaeh, Athena, Aysen, Shylah and Bryan; siblings, Donetta Syliboy and many god children, nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Elmer Googoo; son, Dwayne; daughter, Karen; great granddaughter, Angel. The family wishes to thank the caring staff at Wynn Park for the wonderful care they provided to Mom in the last year and a half. It is greatly appreciated. Visitation will be held after 6pm today at 182 Tuffts St., Indian Brook. A funeral service will be held 2pm Tuesday, December 8th in St. Kateri Church, Indian Brook, Father Tom Kurudeepan, OMI officiating. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. A meal will be held in the community hall following the interment. Donations in memory of Dorothy may be made to St. Kateri Church.
