Obituary of Harold Wilson Rogers

ROGERS, Harold Wilson DFC, CD2 - age 91, of Riverside, Nova Scotia, passed away peacefully at the Colchester East Hants Health Centre in Truro on the 8th of January, 2016. Harold was born in Stewiacke and raised on the family farm in nearby Riverside. He joined the Royal Canadian Air Force during WWII, rose to the rank of Flying Officer, and earned a Distinguished Flying Cross for actions over Germany. After retirement he returned to Nova Scotia, built his own home and settled in Riverside. During his later years, he enjoyed endless golf with friends. He is survived by Rhoda, his wife of 69 years, along with their sons, Richard (Carol) of Nanton, AB; Terrance (Heather) of Victoria, BC; and Charles (Joyce) of Winnipeg, MB. He is also survived by eight grandchildren and nineteen great grandchildren. In keeping with his wishes, a private ceremony will be held at a later date.
