BLOIS, Owen Lloyde –age 75 of Upper Nine Mile River, passed away suddenly February 6, 2016 at the Dartmouth General Hospital. Born in Upper Nine Mile River, he was a son of the late Clarence and Mabel (Wilson) Blois. Owen was a life-long farmer who was recognized with numerous quality milk awards over his career. He was a beloved husband, father and grandfather, with a strong sense of community. He is survived by his son, Lloyde Blois (Shelley Skedden); daughters, Janet (Geoff) Trusler and Leah Blois; grandchildren, Amber and Jasmine Trusler; Alexandria and Lillian Blois; brothers, Holmes Clifford Blois, Eugene (Ruby) Blois, Allen (Patricia) Blois, Stephen (Brenda) Blois; brother in law, Clarence Mills; sister in law, Florence Blois, numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife Mary (Vogt); brother, Benjamin Blois and sister Betty Mills. Visitation will be held 1-3pm Thursday February 11, 2016 in Ettinger Funeral Home, 2812 Highway 2, Shubenacadie, from where a funeral service will take place 1pm Friday February 12, 2016, Rev. Holly J. Edsall officiating. No flowers please, memorial donations may be made to the Sand Hill Cemetery or Oceanview Continuing Care Centre. Interment will be held in the spring.
