I extend to every member of Shirley's family my sympathy as you mourn the passing of your dear loved one .Shirley and I knew one another through Hardwood Lands WI ,something I have always been very thankful for. once I learned that Shirley was willing to do sewing repairs I ran to her often for help with mending and alterations and she was always patient and willing and did excellent work. Shirley and Mom (Mary) developed a wonderful friendship during their last year of life. When Mom moved into the Elms, Shirley immediately made her feel welcome. They went to everything together, each encouraging the other. I don’t think there was an activity they missed. When Mom began to fail in February, Shirley was such a good friend, visiting her every day if she didn’t feel well enough to go out. Sheila and I want to express our deepest sympathies at Shirley’s passing. She was a kind and thoughtful person. I’m sure she made as much difference in others' lives as she did for our mother. We are thinking of the family as you go through this difficult time. We know how much you will miss her. I wonder what mischief they are getting up to now?

Rest in well-earned peace dear Shirley. You were heaven sent to us when you became Julie's roommate for your short stay at Dykeland Lodge and we will be forever grateful. We always enjoyed our chats and visits because we could see how much your presence and friendship meant to her. We are so glad you made it over for a visit in March.
