Wilfred “Angus” Patrick White died peacefully in his home on Friday June 3, 2016 in Sydney, Nova Scotia at the age of 75.
Angus is survived by his son, Peter; daughter, Rose Sylliboy, Whycocomagh, NS; his sister, Juanita Planetta of Vancouver, BC; nephews, Art Forward, Brad Forward and Peter (Tara) Planetta, all of Halifax, NS; and niece, Lee Ann Forward, Vancouver BC. Angus was predeceased by his parents Wilfred and Annie Mae (MacPhee) White; sisters, Florence White, Pearl White; and his brother, Steven White.
Angus was born on March 17th 1941 in Sydney, Nova Scotia to Annie Mae and Wilfred White. Angus was a skilled tractor trailer and heavy equipment operator and over the years did both long haul and local trucking. He worked for many years for MacDonald GW Trucking, as well as Phillips, HW and Sons. He was passionate about, and skilled at his trade and had many a story to share about his adventures over the years. All who knew Angus will agree he was a one of a kind individual and he will be remembered for his never ending generosity, kindness and charismatic personality. Angus was a private man who lived a simple life, yet will leave behind so many who loved him and will miss him always.
As per request there will be no formal service. A private family gathering and spreading of ashes will take place in Cape Breton at a later date. Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of Ettinger Funeral Home, Shubenacadie, NS.
