WOODWORTH, Ralph Irwin – age 88, Carroll’s Corner passed away November 9, 2016 in the Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro. Born in Marlboro, Massachusetts, Ralph lived most of his life in Carroll’s Corner. He was a son of the late Irwin and Alice (Murray) Woodworth. As a young boy, Ralph served in the reserve army during the Second World War. Ralph was employed by National Gypsum for 34 years, as well as with Keith Cantfell and Nova Scotia Sand and Gravel before retiring. He was an elder and trustee in Gays River United Church and a Boy Scout leader. Ralph is survived by his wife Helen; daughters, Vida Woodworth (Jane), Patricia Furtwengler; grandchildren, Simon, Ruby (Philip) and Noah Furtwengler; great grandson Destan; brother, Floyd (Anne), Carroll’s Corner and several nieces and nephew’s. He was predeceased by his twin brothers and a sister. Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of Ettinger Funeral Home, Shubenacadie. Funeral service will be held 2pm Wednesday, November 16 in Gays River United Church, Lori Crocker, DM officiating. A Reception will follow in the church basement. The family would like to thank the staff at Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Palliative Care Unit and a special thanks to his “angels” from Northwood Homecare and his very special angel, Brenda.
