Obituary of Randy Glenn Stuthard

STUTHARD, Randy G. – age 59 of Stewiacke, formerly of Dartmouth. Every once in a while someone comes into your life that makes you want to embrace them and make them “family”. Today it is with the deepest sadness that we share the passing of one of our family members, Randy Stuthard. Randy was born on July 25, 1957. He worked for Forbes Chevrolet until medical complications forced him into retirement a few years ago. That’s when he came into our lives. He needed some mechanical work done and was referred to Don Preiss. They became fast friends and spent many, many hours together working on a number of projects. Randy was introduced to the “Wednesday and Saturday Morning Men’s Coffee Club”. He never, until recently, missed a day. He even scheduled doctor’s appointments around these mornings. He will be missed by his coffee buddies, Don, Roy, Graham, and recently deceased, Bob. Randy died peacefully this morning, December 11, leaving us with a void to fill but happy that we had the opportunity to see him smile, share his jokes, and to know him. Randy will be missed and never forgotten by the Preiss-Cassidy family that became his. Forever in the heart and memory of his dog, his best friend, Phoenix. Randy was predeceased by his father, Donald F.; his mother, Betty; and brother, Don, aged 11. A very special thank you is sent for the care and compassion shown by Randy’s Dr. and the Palliative Care Team at the Colchester East Hants Health Centre. We will miss you always, Randy. Forever in our hearts, our prayers, and our family. Be at peace, Randy, and sleep warm. Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of Ettinger Funeral Home, Shubenacadie. A graveside service will be held 2pm Friday, December 16 at St. Peter’s Roman Catholic Cemetery, Dartmouth. Afterwards, we invite you to join us at 21153 Highway 2, Shubenacadie, NS.
