ROMANS, David “Wayne” Fenton – age 76 of Upper Rawdon passed away June 3, 2017 in the Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro. Born in Halifax, he was a son of the late Ernest Henry Ley and Georgina Florence (Fenton) Romans. Wayne was a member of the RCAF from 1958-1990. He was very proud of being able to serve his country, it was not a duty, it was a privilege. He started a second career with IMP as Manager of the Aurora Program from 1990 to his retirement in 2007. He was a great husband and father. He was an animal lover, always having a soft spot for german shepherds, especially Ursula and his boy, Taz Man. He took pride in everything he did, in his home, his cooking, his gardens and he loved his 1964 Chrysler Imperial convertible, proudly showing it at car shows. Wayne will be remembered by his many friends and family as a fun loving character with a great sense of humour. He will be sadly missed by his wife and best friend, Cheryl (Dowe); the woman he adored; son, Ernest “Ernie” (Leslie) Romans and daughter, Karen Anne Romans; five grandchildren; brothers, Bruce (Liz) Romans and Gary Romans; sister, Virginia (Howard) Thompson; sister in-law, Ina Langley; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by sisters, Marjorie Romans, Joanne Barkhouse-Romans and brother, Ernest Romans. Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of Ettinger Funeral Home, Shubenacadie. As per Wayne’s wishes there will be no visitation or service. Donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the SPCA. Condolences, words of comfort and memories of Wayne may be shared with the family at www.ettingerfuneralhome.com
