Obituary of June Gloria Williams

WILLIAMS, June Gloria- age 84, of Dutch Settlement, passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of her family on September 18, 2017 in The Magnolia, Enfield. Born in Halifax, she was a daughter of the late Leslie and Ellen (Jennings) Griffiths. June was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother, always putting her family and friends first. She was a beautiful cook and was well known for her delicious meals. A favourite pastime of June’s was sitting and browsing through her many cookbooks. She was very active in her community as a member of the Elmsdale Legion, Calais Branch Ladies Auxiliary, the Ladies Auxiliary Church Guild at Saint George’s Anglican Church, Dutch Settlement, and was involved in The Caring and Sharing Angel Tree Food Bank. She enjoyed socializing, shopping, and dining out with her girlfriends, as well as the Red Hatters. June is survived by her sons, Larry, Steven (Mary Ellen), Ken (Annette); daughters, Terry (Len), Wendy (Danny), Cathy (Paul); grandchildren, Scott (Alisha), Jennifer (James), Amanda (Ryan), Jared (Melissa), Jessie (Adam), Monica (Billy), Jill (Derek), Brad (Natalie), Amy (Killian); sister, Lesley Burgess; 10 great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her loving husband, Clyde Cecil; brother, Brian; daughter in law, Stephanie. Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of Ettinger Funeral Home, Shubenacadie. There will be no visitation by request. A funeral service will be held 2pm Thursday, September 21, 2017 in Saint George’s Anglican Church, Dutch Settlement, Rev. Carl Fraser officiating. Interment will follow in St. George’s Anglican Cemetery. A reception will be held in the Riverline Activity Centre.
