Obituary of Ed Harpell

Harpell, William Edward “Ed”- 1955 – 2018, of Urbania, passed away on February 8^th, 2018 in Truro at the age of 62. He was born in Halifax, to parents Percy and the late Marjorie Harpell (d.2017)

He was a resident of Urbania for over 40 years. Not one to dwell on himself, his main source of pride was his family and talking about the accomplishments of his sons. His interests included cars, photography, coin collecting, plastic models and radio control aircraft. He was a dedicated member of local radio control clubs for over 20 years serving as an executive over much of that time. He had a great love of animals of which black dogs were his favorite.

He is survived by wife, Judith Harpell; sons, Gregory and Ian; sister, Susan (David) Irwin and brothers, Stephen (Marie) Harpell, Donald Harpell and Jonathan Harpell. He was predeceased by sister, Linda Harpell (d.2013).

Ed’s family would like to thank all members of the palliative care team at the Colchester East Hants Health Centre in Truro for making his time as comfortable as possible.

Arrangements are under the care of Ettinger Funeral Home, Shubenacadie. There will be no visitation or funeral service by request. Donations in Ed’s memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
