Dear Nancy, Barb, Nancy P, Dale, Nathan, Naomi,
Our sincere sympathy is extended to you on the passing of Bud.
I, Bob, when I was the Berry Crop Specialist, I would visit Bud to solve a few problems with strawberry plant growth. I had great respect for Bud. I remember several times in mid December he would leave a Christmas tree at our home in Truro to enjoy. It is a comfort to know the positive ways Bud touched the lives of those who knew him.
Sincerely,
Bob & Pat Murray

Barb and family,
I am sorry for your loss and that I was not able to attend Bud's funeral today. I remember Bud growing strawberries, the fresh wild blueberry line, and then the IQF wild blueberry processing line with the latest color sorting technology. Bud Weatherhead made a major contribution to Nova Scotia Agriculture and in particular, furthering the development and success of the wild blueberry industry.

My Sincere Condolences to the Weatherhead Family:
I had the opportunity to meet Bud many years ago when I was an Account Manager with the BDC. I remember going to Upper Rawdon and Bud giving me a tour of the blueberry operations there. Bud took great pride in his company and his employees. During the tour we talked “business” and I was most impressed with Bud and his company. Just before I was about to leave Bud offered me a box of blueberries. I offered to pay Bud for the blueberries but he refused. I will remember that kind gesture for the rest of my life.

With loving thoughts and lasting memories, I say. "Good-bye" to Bud.
He was always a very caring, older brother to me; teaching me how to work hard and of course how to behave myself.
My family and I always enjoyed our times with Bud, and he could usually persuade us to follow his sound advice which he had the habit of so generously sharing.
My favourite memory: When Art and I were getting married, I asked Bud to give me away. Of course he would, so he packed up Doreen and five little children and took the train to Brantford. Always there for me!
We will miss Bud dearly but we rejoice in the long, good life he lived among so many honourable family members and friends. RIP, Bud!
Love Wilma and niece Sara
