Obituary of Patricia Pauline Bakke

BAKKE, Patricia Pauline – age 72 of Indian Brook, peacefully passed away surrounded by her family on April2, 2019 at the Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro.

Born in Skowhegan, ME, she was daughter of the late Michael Bernard and Catherine Etter (Paul)

After being put up for adoption as an infant, she was raised in New England, USA. Patricia struggled in her youth with life’s challenges; she mastered beading after becoming clean and sober in Seattle, Washington at Thunderbird Recovery Centre. She was a proud member of Narcotics Anonymous for 28 years. Patricia then sought out her birth family and after a great effort, found them in Nova Scotia. She focused on being positive and motivating everyone around her to be happy. She loved her garden and flowers.

She is survived by her children, Joseph and Diane, West Coast, USA; Gary and Ki, Indian Brook; grandsons, Logan and Jaxin; brothers, Donald Paul, Indian Brook; Stan Etter, Summerland, BC; sister, Lorraine Etter, Indian Brook, Marie, Summerland, BC; Linda (Sonny) Maloney, Hilden; Matilda Bernard, Millbrook; several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband, Harold Bakke; brothers, Jim Etter, Lemmy Bernard, Albert Bernard; sisters, Nora Bernard and Leitha Bernard

Visitation will begin at 1pm Thursday, April 4, at 35 Dowie Road, Indian Brook until time of service at 2pm Saturday, April 6, at St. Kateri’s Church, Father Ron Cairns officiating. Feast and Salite to follow in the community hall.
