I am so sorry to hear about Shirley's passing. I had the fortune and pleasure to have worked with Shirley during our days in Human Resources at the NSLC. I recently got to visit with Shirley and helped her with her gorgeous nails, always the classy lady. I know that she had been suffering for many years but it is difficult to fathom the loss of such a beautiful woman. Her pain is over and our healing begins. Please accept my deepest sympathy for your loss.

My heart goes out to you in your time of sorrow. I will always remember Shirley fondly and have wonderful memories of our time at the NSLC. Shirley had a great sense of humour and even joked about how much work she put into getting beautiful for our visit a couple of weeks ago; I will be forever thankful for that time. RIP my friend.

So sorry to hear that Shirley has passed!
I worked with her at NSLC and got together with her lately through the NSLC Retiree lunches. The messages posted on the "Lunch Group" page aptly describes our friendship and love of being around Shirley. I will restate what I said there:
She was the "real deal." A genuinely nice person. After I posted all those historical pictures from the NSLC Spirited Informer magazine recently, she sent me a message late in the evening, desperate because she couldn't get it to work. I sent her more instructions and heard back from her late the next day apologizing for not having replied that evening. She had gotten it to work but was up all night going down memory lane. She said, "My, you don't know how much that meant to me!" She sure loved her time with all her NSLC co-workers. She was a pleasure to be around. She will be missed and lovingly remembered by all of us who worked with her.
