My sincere condolences to the Jodrey family. Fred was a wonderful man and he will truly be missed by many. I will always cherish the memories I have being around him over the course of me growing up in the greatest community and seeing him over the last few years while visiting.

Many years ago, Fred, Karen and I traveled together from the Grant to work (Fred and I both worked at BIO). A couple of memorable moments include the fact that Fred was often late when we'd go to pick him up and he sometimes came rushing out his door carrying his footwear - in Winter! Also in Winter, when it was his turn to drive, his heater barely kept the windshield clear. I'd be the one in the backseat and the floor was frozen with ice from January-March. You can guarantee we three had a lot of laughs during our travels. You'll be missed Fred! My condolences to the family.

My condolences to Fred’s family who like many of us must have a bunch of memorable “FRED” moments from his lifetime. I had the privilege of working with Fred at BIO where he contributed invaluable technical and moral support for a whole host of scientific projects. In my case, Fred assisted with beach and and nearshore surveys in Atlantic Canada. It was always Fred’s positive attitude that contributed to the success of our activities. For example, Fred participated in the Canadian Atlantic Storm Program during the month of February 1986 in daily beach surveys on the Eastern Shore. The surveys included walking into the cold Atlantic with a wet suit. Thanks Fred -for being there!

So sorry to hear of Fred’s passing. Can still see him on deck with his orange work pants and top. I don’t think I ever saw him really mad in spite of how things can go off the rails while at sea during a sampling program. My sincerest condolences to his family at this time.

Very sad to hear of Fred's passing. I spent many busy but brilliant days with Fred out at sea and in the Arctic. He was always a pleasure to work with and always had a sense of fun. It was his gift to be a great professional and at the same time able to keep a sense of perspective of what was important and what was not in those difficult times when things did not go according to plan (as they often did not in the field). My sincere condolences to his family. So long Fred, may you rest in peace.
