To Ethel's family:
Please accept our sympathy on the loss of your loved one. Having grown up in South Maitland, I went to school with Ethel and her some of her siblings. Met Ethel last Fall in Truro and had a nice chat with her at that time. Always a friendly lady. Take care.

It is with great sadness to learn of Ethel's passing. My thoughts and prayers are with you Wayne and the entire family at this most difficult time. I remember coming to visit Evelyn in 93 when Shawna was only7 months old and we went to visit Aunt Ethel. As always you felt right at home and had lovely visit. She made everyone welcome in her home and always enjoyed a visit. I remember sitting for a long time rolling cigarette with her and Evelyn. The many times I was down we always stopped it to say hello and had a great time. Ethel you will be greatly missed by all who knew you. Your love and kindness was left by many. May you fly with the angels and be reunited with all of the family that went before you. RIP Ethel and please keep an eye on us all down here.
Love, Brenda & Shawna xoxo

Ethel was a amazing women! She made me feel like a member of the family from the very first day we met. I did not visit or keep in touch near enough. But I knew without a doubt her and Wayne were just a phone call away if I ever needed them. Hugs to you all in this time of deep sadness ❤️

Ever since I found out that Ethel had gone to Heaven I have had so many memories going through my mind. Living next to Wayne and Ethel you couldn't ask for better neighbors. One morning my Father wanted to talk to Ethel so he tried to call. Now remember back then we had party lines. So when Dad tried to call the line was busy. He tried a few times but couldn't get through. So he decided to walk over the field to Wayne and Ethel's. He asked Ethel if she could drive him to his doctor. She said of course. Dad then explained that he tried calling but the line was tied up by the other neighbors. Ethel smiled and said, "That was me and my sister Joan on the line." That is just one of the many memories I have of living next to Ethel. Wayne, you loved Ethel to depths of the oceans and beyond that our own galaxy. Doug, she loved you to the moon and beyond and she loved your wife, Cindy. You all are in my thoughts and prayers. You have my condolences. One foot in front of the other, one step at a time, one day at a time.
