Obituary of Haley Harvey
HARVEY, Mahala “Haley”- age 91 of Kennetcook, passed away October 25, 2021 in the Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro. Born in Gormanville on October 5, 1930, she was a daughter of the late Walter and Maude (White) Harvey.
In her younger years, Haley cooked in lumber camps, Kennetcook Hotel and Scotia Nursing Home. She was a member of St. Paul’s United Church, choir member, a member of the Board of Steward’s. She was also a member of the Noel and District Fire Dept. Ladies Auxiliary for 15 years and a volunteer at the Hants North Food Bank.
She is survived by sisters, Estel, Kennetcook; Marina, Kennetcook; Marilyn, Dartmouth; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Myron “Marney”; four children in infancy; sisters, Sylvia, Gladys, Maggie, Hazel, Annie and two in infancy; brothers, Harry and Ercil.
Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of Ettinger Funeral Home, Shubenacadie. Visitation to be held 6-8pm Friday, October 29th at St. Paul’s United Church, Gormanville. A funeral service will be held 2pm Saturday, October 30th from the same location with interment to follow in the church cemetery. Proof of vaccination and one piece of identification is required for those wishing to attend. Masks must be worn inside the church.
